Objectives:
The programme is designed to train clinicians and laboratory technologists in cytopathology in order to be able to serve as cytotechnologists in clinical and research laboratories.
Structure and Content:
General Pathology, Principles of Cytotechnology , Principles of Cytomorphology, Principles of Laboratory, Management, Research Methodology, Biostatistics and Epidemiology, Applied Cytotechnology, Applied Cytomorphology, Research project.
Learning Outcomes:
Graduates will be competent to (i) select appropriate staining and diagnostic procedures for all gynae and non-gynae cases, (ii) work independently in screening and reporting cytopathological specimens, (iii) identify challenging cases and refer or consult and (iv) initiate and participate in operational research involving cytopathological material.
