Objectives:
The programme is designed to build capacity at the master and PHD levels with competence to develop, operate and manage Agricultural Information Systems, carry out research to identify needs and problems of the different information users and provide professional AICM support to agricultural and related stakeholders.

Elective courses: Biodiversity and Agricultural Biotechnology, Information Storage and Retrieval, Internet Programming, Principles of Scholarly Publishing, Telecommunications and Information Policies, Management of Telecommunications and Computer Networks, Human Computer Interaction, Knowledge Based Systems, Expert Systems, Decision Support Systems, Agricultural Policies and Agricultural Information and Communication, Management, AICM Project Management, Agricultural Extension Strategies and Management, Fundamentals of Agricultural Journalism, Organizational Behaviour, Geo-infornatics, Entrepreneurship Development, Agricultural Marketing lnformation Systems. Learning outcomes:
This a regional programme initially meant to benefit 10 countries (Burundi, DRC Congo, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Kenya, Madagascar, Rwanda, Sudan, Tanzania and Uganda). There is scope for extending the programme to other African countries.
